Job summary

The Wesley Hospital in Brisbane invites a Senior Occupational Therapist to lead and support our Occupational Therapy team in an acute hospital setting, maximizing patient independence and function. You’ll work with a multidisciplinary team across neurology, surgery and oncology to deliver high‑quality clinical care.

We seek at least 3 years post‑graduate experience, AHPRA registration and demonstrated leadership.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ post graduate experience in an acute hospital setting.
• AHPRA registration.
• Leadership experience within a hospital setting.
• Strong clinical reasoning and evidence-based practice.
• Excellent communication and teamwork.
• Willingness to obtain required vaccinations and pass background checks.
• Neurological experience desirable.
• Lymphedema or splinting experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the OT team to maximise patient function and independence.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in neurology, orthopaedics, oncology and medical units.

Your part in The Wesley Hospital team

Joining our team as a Senior Occupational Therapist, you will lead and support our Occupational Therapy team and work with patients to maximise their function and independence in their daily activities, within our acute services. Our Occupational Therapy Service is frequently involved in the care of patients, referred by specialist doctors, in the neurology, surgery, orthopaedics, oncology, palliative care and medical units of the hospital.

With a focus on delivering high-quality, clinical care to patients within an acute setting, you’ll recognise the importance of multi-disciplinary approaches to rehabilitation, bringing an open, collaborative approach to patient-centred care.

• Relevant qualifications and AHPRA registration
