Job summary

SA Health – Southern Adelaide Local Health Network is recruiting an Occupational Therapist for Flinders Medical Centre & Noarlunga Hospital. The role involves assessing and treating adults across inpatient and outpatient settings, supporting recovery, independence and better health outcomes.

You will contribute to a rotational, full-time program, reporting to the Occupational Therapy Manager and delivering services with multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent qualification entitling registration as an Occupational Therapist with AHPRA
• Demonstrated competency in clinical management and OT assessment/treatment
• Effective verbal and written communication, ability to meet physical demands of the role

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive occupational therapy services across clinical services
• Assess, interpret findings and plan interventions with patients, carers and health professionals
• Work with reduced supervision on complex cases and collaborate with SALHN teams
• Ensure documentation aligns with service policy
• Maintain and develop clinical knowledge and skills

Join SALHN’s Acute Occupational Therapy team, providing assessment and treatment to adult inpatients and outpatients to support recovery, independence and positive health outcomes.

About the role:

Reporting to the Occupational Therapy Manager,you will deliver comprehensive occupational therapy services across a range of clinical services, working collaboratively to support patient recovery and independence.

Duties for the role will include:

• Using increasing professional knowledge and skills to provide assessments, interpret findings and plan and implement interventions plans in conjunction with the patient, carers, and other health professionals
• Managing with reduced supervision, non-routine clinical situations when more complex problem solving, professional decision making, and practice skills are required
• Working collaboratively with members of other disciplines within SALHN
• Ensuring documentation is consistent with service policy and practice
• Maintaining and developing clinical and professional knowledge and skills

About you:

• Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which entitles registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
• Demonstrated competency in the clinical management of a broad range of conditions.
• Demonstrated competency in Occupational Therapy assessment and treatment techniques.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written
• Demonstrated ability to undertake the physical demands of the job
