John Holland Group’s North Western Program Alliance (NWPA) Undergraduate Program 2027 offers paid, hands-on experience across major rail and infrastructure projects in Melbourne. You’ll work within a high-performing Alliance, gaining exposure to multiple disciplines, teams and project environments.

Eligibility includes currently studying a Bachelor’s Degree with a strong interest in construction, excellent communication, organisational skills, and readiness to travel to project sites.

Qualifications

  • Be currently studying a Bachelor’s Degree
  • Strong interest in construction/infrastructure
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • High attention to detail; thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Hold an Australian Probationary or Full Driver’s License
  • Willing to travel to project sites across Melbourne

Responsibilities

  • Support QA and completion documentation
  • Liaise with subcontractors for progress and quality updates
  • Assist with design documentation (As-Built Drawings, Redlines)
  • Collaborate with site supervisors and engineers
  • Contribute to digital engineering initiatives
  • Perform routine engineering tasks under guidance
  • Develop relationships with external stakeholders including Aboriginal Community Organisations

North Western Program Alliance (NWPA) brings together John Holland, KBR, MTM, V/Line and the client VIDA Rail working together as one team to achieve shared goals.

Since 2017, the Victorian Government has entrusted North Western Program Alliance (NWPA) and our Alliance partners to remove dangerous and congested level crossings, deliver new rail stations and infrastructure, and create more open spaces for the community.

Our Alliance currently has four projects in delivery and two in development phase, along with the successful delivery of twelve level crossing removal projects (20LX), 11 premium stations and a Tram Maintenance Facility.

Project Locations

Depending on your discipline, your responsibilities may include:

Eligibility criteria
  • Be currently studying a Bachelor’s Degree
  • Have a strong interest in construction/infrastructure
  • Possess excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Have a high attention to detailThrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Hold an Australian Probationary or Full Driver’s License
