Job summary

UniSC Fraser Coast is seeking a technical support specialist to back Nursing and Midwifery programs. You will manage high-fidelity simulation environments, prepare learning spaces, and maintain clinical equipment, working closely with academic staff to ensure safe, well-prepared facilities.

Qualifications

• Completion of a relevant degree or combination of relevant experience and education/training with experience providing technical and practical support within a tertiary educational, clinical or similar environment.
• Demonstrated experience providing practical and technical support in a teaching, workshop, clinical or similar environment, with ability to prepare and facilitate high-quality practical and simulated learning experiences.
• Commitment to utilising simulation methodology in learning and its ability to transform education, with willingness to learn and support new technologies and techniques.
• Sound knowledge of workplace health and safety practices, including risk assessments, safe operating procedures and relevant policies/guidelines.
• Strong organisational and time management skills, ability to work independently and manage competing priorities in a high-volume environment.
• Effective communication, interpersonal, analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to work collaboratively with staff and students.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise and support for Nursing and Midwifery programs, including high-fidelity simulation and clinical learning environments.
• Prepare, maintain and safely operate clinical equipment, simulation technologies, facilities and resources; ensure environments are safe, functional and ready for learning activities.
• Provide technical guidance and problem-solving support, including training staff in the use of simulation equipment and supervising casual team members when required.
