Job summary

As Associate Professor in Nursing, you will provide strategic academic leadership, oversee contemporary nursing education and research, coordinate courses, supervise HDR candidates, and build partnerships with healthcare providers and professional bodies to advance student outcomes and research impact.

Qualifications

• Doctoral qualification (PhD or equivalent) plus significant experience in nursing.
• Current registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with AHPRA.
• Demonstrated excellence in teaching, supervision and curriculum development across undergraduate and postgraduate nursing education.
• Established research profile, including publication in high-quality journals and success in securing competitive research funding.
• Proven leadership capability in research, teaching and/or academic governance, with a commitment to mentoring colleagues and fostering a positive team culture.
• Strong industry and community engagement, with the ability to develop and maintain effective professional partnerships and networks.
• Internationally recognised contributions to the discipline and a demonstrated commitment to advancing the nursing profession.

Responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to the delivery of contemporary nursing curriculum, coordinate courses, supervise higher degree by research candidates, and foster collaborative partnerships with healthcare providers, professional bodies and community stakeholders.
• Drive student success, strengthen research capability and enhance CQUniversity's reputation for excellence in nursing education.
• Provide significant academic leadership within the School, contributing to strategic direction and ongoing success of nursing education and research.
