Job summary

Hunter New England Local Health District's Manning Hospital is seeking an experienced renal nurse leader to become Nurse Unit Manager.

You will lead a multidisciplinary team, deliver high‑quality patient‑centred care, drive service transformation, and work with senior leaders to coordinate renal services.

The role focuses on developing staff, guiding change, and improving outcomes in a complex clinical environment.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated leadership and management experience within a complex clinical environment
  • Experience leading or implementing change and managing resistance within teams
  • Strong experience working collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams
  • The ability to develop and communicate a clear vision for service growth and improvement
  • Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills
  • A commitment to coaching, mentoring and developing others
  • Relevant postgraduate qualifications in clinical leadership or management, or a willingness to undertake further study

What You'll Be Doing

You’ll lead and manage the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care while providing professional leadership and support to your team.
Working closely with senior leaders, medical staff, external providers and other multidisciplinary stakeholders, you’ll play a key role in coordinating services and ensuring the needs of patients and the service are met. The role also involves driving continuous improvement, managing resources and supporting workforce development to deliver strong service outcomes.

  • Current Authority to Practice As a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
  • Extensive experience in renal nursing
