Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Nurse Unit Manager to lead our healthcare team in a multipurpose setting. We are investing in service enhancements that will directly support the NUM role, including the employment of a dedicated Social Worker and the establishment of a new Allied Health team, strengthening multidisciplinary acute care and enabling a more sustainable and supported leadership environment.

Key Responsibilities

As Nurse Unit Manager, you will provide visible, hands‑on leadership to a skilled acute care nursing team, with responsibility for the coordination of high‑quality clinical care and the day‑to‑day operational management of the unit.

• Providing strong clinical leadership that promotes safe, high‑quality patient care
• Leading and supporting nursing staff to foster a positive, collaborative and accountable team culture
• Overseeing unit operations, including staffing, patient flow and resource management
• Driving quality improvement initiatives and evidence‑based practice
• Ensuring compliance with clinical standards, accreditation requirements and organisational policies
• Working closely with medical, allied health and support services to optimise care delivery
• Contributing to service planning, change initiatives and workforce development

About You

• Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
• Previous experience in a nursing leadership or management role
• Strong clinical governance knowledge and a commitment to quality and safety
• Well‑developed communication and interpersonal skills
• The ability to lead teams through change with confidence and empathy
