Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Nurse Unit Manager to lead our healthcare team in a multipurpose setting. As a clinical leader, you will bring a fresh perspective, energy, and a collaborative approach to our organization. This is an exciting time to join Alpine Health. We are investing in service enhancements that will directly support the NUM role, including the employment of a dedicated Social Worker and the establishment of a new Allied Health team, strengthening multidisciplinary acute care and enabling a more sustainable and supported leadership environment.

Key Responsibilities

As Nurse Unit Manager, you will provide visible, hands‑on leadership to a skilled acute care nursing team, with responsibility for the coordination of high‑quality clinical care and the day‑to‑day operational management of the unit.

  • Providing strong clinical leadership that promotes safe, high‑quality patient care
  • Leading and supporting nursing staff to foster a positive, collaborative and accountable team culture
  • Overseeing unit operations, including staffing, patient flow and resource management
  • Driving quality improvement initiatives and evidence‑based practice
  • Ensuring compliance with clinical standards, accreditation requirements and organisational policies
  • Working closely with medical, allied health and support services to optimise care delivery
  • Contributing to service planning, change initiatives and workforce development
About You
  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
  • Previous experience in a nursing leadership or management role
  • Strong clinical governance knowledge and a commitment to quality and safety
  • Well‑developed communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to lead teams through change with confidence and empathy
