  • Supportive and collaborative clinical environment
  • Opportunity to join an expanding service with further growth planned for 2027
  • Meaningful patient interaction and the opportunity to build ongoing relationships with children and families

The Opportunity: You’ll be joining an established paediatric clinic that provides comprehensive developmental and behavioural assessments for children and adolescents.

Working within a dedicated ADHD assessment pathway, you’ll play an important role in gathering clinical information, completing assessments and supporting families as they navigate the assessment and treatment process.

Your responsibilities will include
  • Conducting comprehensive clinical consultations with children, adolescents and their families
  • Taking detailed medical, developmental, behavioural and family histories
  • Completing relevant clinical observations and physical measurements, including height and weight
  • Coordinating ADHD screening questionnaires and gathering information from parents, carers and schools
  • Reviewing clinical histories and assessment findings to support diagnostic decision-making
  • Presenting and discussing cases during multidisciplinary case conferences
  • Collaborating with consultant paediatricians and social workers to develop appropriate care recommendations
  • Supporting ongoing reviews and monitoring of children receiving ADHD care
  • Building positive, trusting relationships with children and families throughout the assessment process

The clinic operates a collaborative model, with consultant paediatricians providing clinical oversight and managing medication prescribing, allowing you to focus on assessment, clinical review and family-centred care.

About You

We're looking for a motivated Nurse Practitioner who is confident in their clinical abilities and interested in learning a new specialty.

You may currently be working in a hospital, acute care or specialist paediatric setting and looking for a change of pace and a different clinical challenge.

Ideally, you’ll bring
  • Current AHPRA registration and Nurse Practitioner endorsement
  • Clinical experience working with children, adolescents or neonates
  • A background in Paediatrics, Emergency Department, NICU, PICU, Intensive Care or paediatric mental health
  • Strong clinical assessment, history-taking and documentation skills
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with children and parents
  • Confidence working independently while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team
  • A proactive approach, strong work ethic and willingness to learn

You do not need prior experience in ADHD assessments or developmental paediatrics. If you have a paediatric clinical background and are willing to learn, the team is happy to provide the training.

Why Consider This Opportunity

If you’ve spent years working in NICU, Emergency, Intensive Care or paediatric nursing, you may be wondering what the next step in your career could look like.

This opportunity allows you to use the clinical skills and experience you’ve developed throughout your nursing career in a completely different environment.

Rather than stepping away from patient care, you’ll have the opportunity to build relationships with children and families, follow their progress and be part of a service helping families access specialist ADHD assessment and support.

You’ll be joining an established clinical team that values experienced nurses and recognises the transferable skills they bring to developmental paediatrics.
