Job summary
Central Australian Aboriginal Congress Aboriginal Corporation seeks a Registered Nurse/Midwife to support the HTLV-1 program in Alice Springs, NT. The role involves disseminating guidelines, raising awareness, and aiding screening and consent processes with Aboriginal women, health professionals, and others in maternity services.
The ideal candidate has APHRA registration as RN or Midwife, HTLV-1 knowledge, and a commitment to culturally responsive health education.
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse or Midwife with APHRA registration.
- Extensive knowledge of HTLV-1 with an interest in health promotion.
- Ability to provide education on HTLV-1 to health professionals and clients.
- Experience delivering services in Comprehensive Primary Health Care and culturally responsive to Aboriginal clients.
- Willingness and ability to travel to remote locations if required.
- Current NT Drivers Licence.
Responsibilities
- Disseminate and implement HTLV-1 Australian Clinical Guidelines.
- Raise awareness of HTLV-1 in Central Australia.
- Provide information and support for HTLV-1 screening and consenting processes.
- Deliver evidence-based prevention strategies to clients and health professionals.
