Qualifications

  • 7+ years' experience in naval or civil nuclear facility and/or security environment.
  • Experience with nuclear regulation and licensing is highly regarded.
  • Current National Police Clearance and Australian Defence Security Clearance required.

About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Head of Nuclear Management Arrangements the Nuclear Facilities and Security Arrangements Manager is responsible for developing management processes and procedures that ensure compliance with Australian nuclear facility, safeguard and security regulations, including licensing and authorisation requirements.

This role leads a small team of subject matter experts to produce compliant documentation within the department. Where appropriate, the manager will also coordinate and oversee the development of required documentation by internal or external specialists and subcontractors, ensuring alignment with regulatory standards.

Responsibilities
  • Create compliant and comprehensive processes that meet the licensing and authorisation requirements of the Australian Naval Nuclear Power Safety Regulations
  • Establish guidance to support staff in developing nuclear management arrangements
  • Develop and manage maintenance arrangements for nuclear facilities and security systems
  • Build effective working and communication practices with internal and external stakeholders to ensure shared understanding and regulatory compliance
  • Mentor staff, assess training needs, and define development requirements to support capability as business knowledge evolves
About you
  • Tertiary qualifications in Management, IT, Engineering, Safety, Nuclear or similar
  • 7+ years’ experience within the naval or civil nuclear facility and/or security environment;
  • Specific understanding and experience of Nuclear Facilities and associated safeguard and security support needs
  • Specific experience working with nuclear regulation and licensing will be highly regarded;
  • Specific experience or comprehensive understanding of Nuclear Safeguards would be an advantage and highly regarded
  • Experience managing inter‑organisational stakeholders will be highly regarded

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
