Remuneration: Staff Specialist - $262,376 - $323,777 per annum full time equivalent depending on experience

Hours Per Week: Up to 32 hours per week

This vacancy is maternity leave relief for an initial period ending in May 2026, for up to 32 hours per week; the hours and period of employment may change according to the maternity leave requirements. There is also the possibility of an extension at same / reduced hours.

Remuneration as a Senior Specialist will be considered and is subject to CE Approval

What you’ll be doing

Provide contemporary comprehensive specialist General Paediatric services for optimal patient outcomes at The Network Hospitals including inpatient services, outpatient clinics, Hospital in the Home and consultancy where applicable for optimal patient outcomes delivering a healthy community through quality care.

Take a lead role in child and adolescent medicine including: eating disorders, childhood obesity, childhood and adolescent mental health, as well as children with complex care requirements.

Take a lead role with local child protection issues this would include being available for “non-acute” child protection examinations.

Provide clinical leadership, participate in quality improvement activities and provide training and education to clinicians across multiple disciplines to achieve quality education and safe clinical practice.

Requirements & Eligibility
  • Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist General Paediatrician, and/or overseas trained specialist pathways.
  • Demonstrated recent clinical experience in General Paediatrics and Neonatal Medicine at the role delineation of the service.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership of a team.
  • Demonstrated effective clinical communication through the use of information technology and written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to teaching, continuing education, research and quality improvement.
  • Demonstrated recent clinical experience with child and adolescent medicine including eating disorders, childhood obesity, childhood & adolescent mental health, as well as children with complex care requirements.
  • Demonstrated recent clinical experience with child protection issues and evidence of completion of relevant training.
  • Valid unrestricted drivers licence for use in NSW/Australia and willingness to travel in the course of employment and availability to participate in an on‑call roster and to respond on site within a reasonable time.
