Job summary

Peabody is seeking an experienced Gas Drainage Drilling Operator for Metropolitan Mine. You will operate underground gas drainage drill rigs safely, follow mine plans, and perform coring and sampling as required, while maintaining high safety standards.

You will install and maintain gas drainage infrastructure, complete pre-start checks, and collaborate with supervisors to achieve production targets. A strong safety mindset and team spirit are essential.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience operating underground gas drainage drill rigs.
• Strong safety focus with hazard identification and risk management.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Current underground coal mine induction and relevant statutory competencies.
• Proven problem-solving and effective communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate underground gas drainage drilling equipment safely and efficiently.
• Conduct drilling activities per mine plans and requirements.
• Complete underground coring and sampling as required.
• Install and maintain gas drainage infrastructure and equipment.
• Issue pre-start inspections and basic servicing of drilling gear.
• Record shift reports and operational documentation accurately.
• Collaborate with supervisors and production teams to meet targets.
