Job summary

Inghams Chickens in Murarrie is seeking an experienced Night Shift Production Manager to lead the Primary Processing team during overnight operations.

This senior on-site role runs roughly 10:00pm–7:00am, coordinating production, dispatch, maintenance, cleaning and QA to deliver safe, efficient and compliant results each day. You will mentor night teams, drive KPIs, and ensure food safety and animal welfare standards are upheld.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated leadership within production/manufacturing/FMCG or similarly complex operations
• Experience leading large teams and multiple functions/workstreams
• Strong understanding of production performance, labour management and KPIs
• Proven ability to lead safely in a regulated environment
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Ability to collaborate across Production, Maintenance, Quality and other teams
• Hands-on and visible leadership with focus on developing people
• Strong communication, planning and organisational skills
• Willingness to work permanent night shift hours (10:00pm–7:00am)

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all night shift operations at the Murarrie site
• Manage safe shutdown of plant operations around 11:00pm
• Oversee night dispatch operations to meet service requirements
• Coordinate overnight maintenance to maximise plant reliability
• Oversee cleaning and pre-operational activities per food safety standards
• Lead start-up of production around 3:00am
• Drive KPIs across labour, yield, throughput and quality
• Maintain high standards for people safety and animal welfare
• Collaborate with multiple site functions to resolve issues and minimise disruption
• Coach and develop night shift teams with clear accountability
• Ensure smooth handovers between shifts and communicate priorities
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce waste
