Key Accountabilities
  • Anticipate and attend to the guest’s needs and desires immediately.
  • Offer a warm and friendly salutation to hotel guests as they enter and depart from the Hotel.
  • Check guests in and out with efficiency and friendliness and in accordance with the established Hotel procedural guidelines.
  • Process daily guest transactions and accounts accurately and efficiently.
  • Work with the Housekeeping, Reservations, and Maintenance departments, to ensure that the Hotel’s rooms are properly prepared for arriving guests.
  • Communicate any guest special request to the appropriate department(s) and follow up to make certain the request has been fulfilled in accordance with the guest’s wishes.
  • Promptly action all guest messages and facsimiles.
  • Communicate any pertinent guest comments, particularly guest complaints, to the Hotel management.
  • Be fully conversant with regard to all information on the area as a destination, the services available at and through the hotel, any special events taking place in the area.
  • Have a full working knowledge of all current room rates and packages available at the Hotel.
  • Book, update, amend and file all reservations accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Participate in all rostered theoretical and on-the-job training sessions.
  • Comply with all of the hotel’s operational policies & procedures.
  • Maintain a clean & safe working environment.
  • Have a full knowledge of, and practice all of the hotel’s established workplace health and safety guidelines (WH&S).
  • Adhere to all established cashiering policies and procedures.
  • Ensure the protection and maintenance of all operating equipment.
  • Complete all assigned opening and closing duties.
  • Give assistance to the telephonists and back office personnel when required.
  • Attend all scheduled meetings.
WHS Manager – Hotels & Resorts - EVT Head Office

We’re expanding our Safety Team at EVT and have an exciting opportunity for a WHS Manager to lead the safety strategy for our Hotels & Resorts. Reporting into the General Manager of People, Culture & Safety, this is a sole‑charge, senior operational role that plays a critical part in embedding safety as a core operational priority across our diverse hotel and resort portfolio.

As a trusted safety leader you’ll work closely with Hotel General Managers, divisional leadership, and enterprise WHS teams to ensure WHS is proactively managed, visibly championed by leaders, and integrated into the operational rhythm of each property. This role goes beyond compliance—driving shared accountability, strengthening frontline safety behaviours, and ensuring WHS systems and practices are practical, scalable, and embedded into real‑world decision‑making.

Operating across Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore, with potential for further regional growth, you’ll provide expert advice and support aligned to Hotels & Resorts‑specific risks, legal obligations, and evolving safety expectations. You’ll also collaborate as part of the enterprise WHS Community of Practice, contributing to initiatives that enhance safety capability and consistency across the broader EVT business. This role is hands‑on and involves travel between our properties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic WHS Leadership: Advise divisional leadership on emerging risks, regulatory changes, and improvement opportunities; influence WHS goal setting and resource allocation.
  • Operational WHS Support: Develop tailored WHS practices for site‑specific risks; conduct inspections, risk assessments, and emergency drills; embed safety into daily operations.
  • Incident Management & Investigations: Lead or coach investigations, ensure root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions; monitor trends and escale systemic risks.
  • Capability Building: Deliver WHS training and coaching for leaders and teams; support induction and ongoing safety communication.
  • Systems & Reporting: Champion Donesafe usage; ensure accurate reporting and timely action close‑out; prepare divisional WHS insights for senior leadership.
  • Enterprise Collaboration: Represent Hotels & Resorts in cross‑functional WHS forums; contribute operational expertise to enterprise‑wide initiatives.
Who We Are Looking For
  • Proven WHS leader with 5+ years’ experience, including multi‑site or senior operational roles.
  • Industry experience across hospitality is preferred but not essential.
  • Strong knowledge of WHS legislation across Australia and New Zealand with expertise in high‑risk controls and hospitality‑specific hazards.
  • Skilled in incident investigation, root cause analysis, and implementing corrective/preventive actions.
  • Experienced in partnering with operational leaders to embed WHS into business processes and culture.
  • Ability to deliver practical, site‑relevant training and build WHS capability across diverse teams.
  • Resilient, influential communicator who can balance compliance with operational realities and drive results in a fast‑paced environment.
