Job summary

CrossReach’s Ardrossan home offers residential care for up to 39 older people, with a focus on safety, comfort and individual choice. As a Night Care Worker, you’ll provide personal and practical overnight support, help residents rest, and ensure continuity of care with thorough handovers.

You’ll be calm, dependable and attentive, with strong communication and a willingness to learn. PVG and SSSC registration are required, and SVQ Level 3 training is supported by CrossReach.

Qualifications

• Calm, dependable and attentive
• Able to respond thoughtfully to different situations
• Excellent communication and listening skills
• Willing to work toward SVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care with CrossReach
• Comfort with providing personal overnight care and working independently on night shifts
• Must meet PVG and SSSC registration requirements

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and practical assistance during the night, respecting individual routines and preferences.
• Respond promptly and sensitively when someone needs support or reassurance.
• Support people with mobility, comfort and other overnight care needs.
• Carry out appropriate checks in line with individual care plans.
• Recognise and report changes in health, behaviour or wellbeing.
• Maintain accurate records and share important information during shift handovers.
