EPG Payroll & HR Australia in Macquarie Park NSW is seeking an experienced full-time Network Engineer to design, implement and maintain our network infrastructure. You will work with IT teams to ensure performance, security and reliability while delivering robust connectivity across the organisation.

The role requires a bachelor's degree or higher in IT/CS and 2+ years of relevant experience, with strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills. On-site work in Sydney is expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline; or
  • At least 2+ years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated practical experience and/or relevant industry certifications demonstrating capability in network administration and support
  • Proven experience in network administration, IT support, or a similar infrastructure-focused role
  • Strong understanding of network environments, including configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Experience supporting users and resolving system or connectivity issues
  • Sound understanding of system security, access control and data protection practices
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate documentation
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to manage competing tasks
  • Clear communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical users

Responsibilities

  • Analysed business and technical requirements and contributed to the design, planning, implementation, and maintenance of network and systems infrastructure.
  • Designed, configured, and maintained LAN/WAN environments, routers, switches, firewalls, wireless networks, and associated network infrastructure.
  • Configured and managed core network services and protocols, including TCP/IP, VLANs, DHCP, DNS, VPNs, and routing protocols.
  • Monitored network performance, availability, capacity, and connectivity to identify potential issues and ensure the reliability and stability of network services.
  • Diagnosed and resolved complex network and systems issues by performing technical analysis, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis, and implementing appropriate corrective actions.
  • Planned and executed network upgrades, configuration changes, system integrations, testing, and deployments, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Implemented and maintained network security measures, including firewall configurations, access controls, VPN connectivity, and network security policies, in accordance with organisational requirements.
  • Evaluated existing network infrastructure and contributed to the development of technical solutions and infrastructure improvements to meet evolving business requirements.
  • Coordinated with internal IT teams, application teams, vendors, and service providers to resolve technical issues and successfully deliver network infrastructure projects and changes.
  • Prepared and maintained network architecture diagrams, technical documentation, configuration records, IP addressing details, and operational procedures.
  • Conducted network testing and validation following infrastructure changes and ensured that new or upgraded network components met defined technical and operational requirements.
  • Provided ongoing technical support, preventive maintenance, and performance optimisation to ensure secure, resilient, and highly available network infrastructure.
  • Participated in infrastructure projects from requirements analysis and solution design through implementation, testing, deployment, and post-implementation support.
