Paxus Australia Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to provide onsite IT and OT network support across mine‑site environments in South Australia. This FIFO role operates on an 8/6 roster with an initial five‑month contract and potential extension.

Strong Cisco switching/routing, wireless APs, IE infrastructure and OT/IT network experience are required. The role emphasizes hands-on troubleshooting, incident management and collaboration with project teams on network initiatives.

Network Engineer – FIFO 8/6

Roster: 8 days on / 6 days off (FIFO)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer to provide onsite support and maintenance across IT and Operational Technology (OT) network environments.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone with strong Cisco networking, troubleshooting and network infrastructure experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide Level 1 and Level 2 support across IT and OT network infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot network incidents, outages and performance issues.
• Support network patching, firmware updates and software upgrades.
• Review and approve network-related technology changes onsite.
• Provide technical support to project teams implementing network-related initiatives.
• Maintain network reliability, standards and operational requirements.

Technical Skills & Experience

• Strong experience with Cisco switching and routing.
• Experience supporting Cisco wireless access points.
• Knowledge of Cisco Industrial Ethernet (IE) infrastructure.
• Exposure to Cambium wireless technologies.
• Experience supporting OT and IT network environments.
• Understanding of surface and underground communication networks.
• Strong network troubleshooting and incident management skills.

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience as a Network Engineer in complex network environments.
• Strong hands-on technical and troubleshooting capabilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with onsite and remote teams.
• Mining, resources or industrial networking experience will be highly regarded.
• Availability to commence ASAP.
