Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) seeks experienced Development Engineers for our Operations team in Sydney to help drive the stability and scalability of our global network and infrastructure. You will lead complex investigations, collaborate with platform and software teams, and contribute to incident management and automation.

Ideal candidates have 4+ years in internet routing, Linux/Unix experience, and skills in Python/Bash; you'll design repeatable solutions, mentor others, and help maintain high

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of major internet routing protocols experience
  • 1+ years of working in a Linux/Unix environment experience
  • 1+ years of automation scripting using Python, Bash, Shell and/or Perl experience

Responsibilities

  • Drive deep dives for large-scale events, deliver high-quality documentation and drive corrective actions to completion
  • Improve our detection mechanisms by designing and implementing new alerts
  • Network design and deliver simple, sustainable and repeatable solutions and processes
  • Identify and troubleshoot recurring platform issues and effectively engage with senior-level engineering teams for full resolution
  • Work closely with platform and software teams to ensure operational readiness and design meet standards.
  • Drive standards across the and ensure that we are fully compliant to those standards and policies
  • Create and review documentation and process regarding recurring issues, new standard operating procedures, knowledge transfer material, etc.
  • Troubleshoot , and interconnectivity issues, including device configuration and low-level application interaction
  • Identify and drive opportunities to repetitive tasks through creation and maintenance of scripts and tools.
  • Provide critical on-shift network operations, design and deployment support to diagnose and mitigate large-scale events
  • Effectively contribute towards hiring and developing others in the team.

Basic Qualifications
