Job summary

Cuscal Limited in Sydney is seeking a Cyber Security Engineer - Network on a 24-month max term contract. You will design, implement and continually improve Cuscal's Web Application Firewall (WAF) and DDoS protection across cloud, hybrid and on-premises environments.

You will work with Network, Cloud, Application and Security Operations teams to onboard new services, tune policies, monitor traffic, respond to incidents and strengthen cyber defence.

Qualifications

• Hands-on network security engineering experience.
• Experience deploying and operating enterprise WAF.
• Experience mitigating network and application-layer DDoS attacks.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, HTTP/S, TLS, DNS, load balancing, proxies and CDN techs.
• Experience protecting web apps and APIs from OWASP threats and malicious traffic.
• Strong troubleshooting and traffic analysis across network, app and security layers.
• Excellent stakeholder management and incident response skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy and support WAF and DDoS services across cloud, hybrid and on-prem environments.
• Develop and tune WAF policies and security controls for web apps and APIs.
• Engineer solutions to detect, prevent and respond to DDoS attacks.
• Collaborate with Network, Cloud, App and Security Ops teams to onboard services and strengthen controls.
• Monitor traffic, investigate threats and respond to incidents.
• Implement bot management, API protection, rate limiting and advanced traffic controls.
• Improve visibility via telemetry and SIEM integrations.
• Drive continuous improvements to strengthen Cuscal's cyber defence.
