Job summary

Qantas in Sydney seeks an experienced NDT Senior Surveyor Aircraft Maintenance Engineers to perform non-destructive testing inspections on aircraft structures and components, ensuring compliance with EN4179 and industry standards while contributing to airworthiness.

You will work within a highly skilled maintenance environment, collaborating with engineers and maintenance teams to identify defects, support maintenance activities and uphold safety and quality across a diverse fleet.

Qualifications

• Recognised qualification in Non-Destructive Testing.
• NDT certification in methods such as Eddy Current, Ultrasonic, Radiography; Phased Array preferred.
• Experience conducting NDT inspections in aviation or regulated environments.
• Strong understanding of aircraft maintenance and inspection procedures.
• Ability to interpret drawings and engineering documents.
• Commitment to safety and high quality workmanship.
• Willingness to work a 24/7 rotating shift roster.

We are seeking experienced NDT Senior Surveyor Aircraft Maintenance Engineers to join our Engineering team. In this role, you will perform non-destructive testing inspections on aircraft structures and components, ensuring compliance with regulatory, manufacturer and company standards IAW EN4179. while contributing to the ongoing airworthiness and safety of our fleet.

Working within a highly skilled maintenance environment, you will collaborate closely with engineers, maintenance teams and operational stakeholders to identify and assess aircraft defects, support maintenance activities and uphold the highest standards of safety and quality.

What You'll Be Doing

• Conduct Non-Destructive Testing inspections using approved methods and procedures.
• Perform inspections on aircraft structures, components and systems in accordance with regulatory and company requirements.
• Interpret, evaluate and document inspection results accurately.
• Identify defects and provide technical recommendations to support maintenance activities.
• Maintain NDT equipment in accordance with calibration and operational requirements.
• Ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety, quality and environmental standards.
• Collaborate effectively with maintenance teams and other engineering specialists.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence.

What You'll Bring

• Recognised qualification in Non-Destructive Testing.
• Demonstrated NDT certification in one or more methods (such as Eddy Current, Ultrasonic, Magnetic Particle, Liquid Penetrant, Phased Array Ultrasonic and Radiography). Preference will be given to candidates who hold the Phased Array Ultrasonic testing skills
• Demonstrated experience conducting NDT inspections within an aviation, aerospace or similarly regulated environment.
• Strong understanding of aircraft maintenance practices and inspection procedures.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, manuals and engineering documentation.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and compliance.
• Ability to work a 24/7 rotating shift roster.
