Job summary

Maxima Recruitment Services in Marsden is seeking an experienced Natural Areas Team Member to join the local council for on-ground bushland maintenance, rehabilitation, fire management and audit programs. You will operate small plant, oversee teams, manage GIS data, and respond to maintenance requests while following WH&S policies. The role offers a 9-day fortnight with casual hourly pay of $39 plus super.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated practical field experience in Natural Areas operations.
• Safe and competent operation of small plant and equipment.
• Knowledge of indigenous flora and fauna; exotic species identification.
• Hands-on experience in planned burning activities and wildfire control strategies.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient with GIS and related systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance of walking tracks, trails and fire access lines; use of plant and equipment; weed and erosion control; site preparation and restoration works.
• Oversee activities of the work team, volunteers, trainees and contractors.
• Respond to bushland maintenance customer service requests within the area of responsibility.
• Participate as an active team member during prescribed burn operations.
• Follow communications plan and chain of command.
