Job summary

Effective People is seeking an EL1 Fraud Control / Corruption Prevention Officer for our Federal Government client in a sensitive national security environment. Location options include Brisbane, Perth, Canberra, Melbourne or Sydney. Contract is 6 months with extension up to 3 months, pay $120–$140 per hour including super, onsite work only, 40 hours per week.

NV2 clearance or above is required. The role involves testing fraud and corruption controls, analysing evidence and data, and turning

Qualifications

• Experience conducting fraud and corruption control testing in a Commonwealth context.
• Ability to test control effectiveness using structured risk or assurance methods.
• Ability to analyse large data sets and identify meaningful patterns and risks.
• Ability to gather evidence, challenge responses and form defensible conclusions.
• Experience writing findings papers or assurance reports with clear recommendations.
• Ability to work with control owners, specialists and senior stakeholders.
• Australian citizenship and NV2 clearance or above.

Responsibilities

• Conduct fraud and corruption control testing.
• Test whether identified controls are operating effectively.
• Apply risk testing, assessment and management methods.
• Assess operational, financial, strategic and compliance risks.
• Analyse large data sets for patterns, trends and potential risks.
• Gather evidence and responses from relevant teams.
• Work with other specialists to solve testing and assurance issues.
• Develop a findings paper covering scope, methods, evidence and conclusions.
• Provide practical recommendations based on the testing results.
