About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced National Project Director to join our Property Management team.


This National role is open to candidates based in Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane, providing the opportunity to influence major healthcare infrastructure projects across St Vincent's Health Australia's extensive property portfolio throughout New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria.


Reporting to the National Director, Property Management, this critical leadership role is responsible for overseeing enterprise strategy, property development and construction projects across St Vincent's national property portfolio. Applications are welcomed from candidates based in Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane, with flexibility to travel across the east coast of Australia as required.


You will provide strategic leadership across a diverse portfolio of healthcare infrastructure projects, including project planning, development, feasibility, refurbishment, reconfiguration, construction delivery, operational commissioning and post-completion management.


Working closely with executive leaders, hospital leadership teams, clinicians, finance, procurement, legal, technology and external partners, you will help shape and deliver the infrastructure that supports healthcare services for generations to come.


This is an outstanding opportunity for a senior project leader to combine strategic influence, commercial acumen and healthcare infrastructure expertise within a purpose-driven organisation.


Your Key Responsibilities

As a senior leader within the Property Management function, you will:



  • Lead the planning, development and delivery of major healthcare infrastructure and capital works projects across the national portfolio.

You are an accomplished project and infrastructure leader with a proven track record delivering large-scale property, construction, health infrastructure or capital works projects in complex stakeholder environments.


You combine strategic thinking, commercial acumen and operational excellence with the ability to navigate competing priorities and deliver outcomes that align with organisational objectives. You are comfortable operating at both strategic and operational levels and are recognised for your ability to influence stakeholders, solve complex challenges and drive project success.


You have successfully partnered with Executive Leadership Teams, clinicians, hospital management, consultants, contractors and government agencies, building trusted relationships that enable collaboration, progress and successful delivery.

You Will Bring


  • Tertiary qualifications in Architecture, Project Management, Construction Management or a related discipline.


  • Proven experience leading projects valued in excess of $10 million.


  • A minimum of 7 years' experience developing and delivering healthcare infrastructure projects.


  • Extensive experience working with clinicians, hospital executives and healthcare stakeholders.


  • Demonstrated success leading complex project teams and managing diverse stakeholder groups.


  • Strong experience in project feasibility, cost planning, design management and procurement.


  • Extensive capability in project financial administration, capital expenditure management and enterprise-level reporting.


  • Proven expertise in contractor, consultant and stakeholder management.


  • Experience managing project quality, risk and safety throughout the project lifecycle.


  • Strong contract management and procurement experience.


  • The ability to manage multiple major projects simultaneously while maintaining oversight of cost, quality, programme and risk outcomes.


  • Flexibility to travel across the east coast of Australia as required.



Highly regarded


  • Project Management qualifications.


  • Experience in hospital planning and design.


  • WHS experience within a project management environment.


  • Client-side or contractor-side project director experience.
