Job summary

The Australian Department of Veterans of Affairs in Canberra is seeking a Senior Project Officer to provide specialist procurement, contracting and administration support. You will liaise with DVA staff, ex-Service organisations, veterans and families, cemetery authorities, and local and state bodies; manage contract reporting, financial analysis, asset registers and compliance with procurement frameworks.

The role supports OAWG operations and national office activities, delivering advisory

Qualifications

  • Provide procurement, contract and administration advice to depots and national office.
  • Liaise with Department staff, ex-Service organisations, veterans and families, cemetery authorities, local and State authorities, and funeral providers on OAWG matters.
  • Represent the Commonwealth as an official at international and national fora and understand military commemorative services.
  • Possess a Certificate IV in Procurement and Contracting and/or transferable experience.
  • Undertake procurement activities and manage contracts for works, services and goods as part of projects or National Office support.

Responsibilities

  • Provide procurement, contract and administration advice to depots and national office.
  • Liaise with DVA staff, ex-Service organisations, veterans and families, cemetery authorities, local and State authorities, and funeral providers on OAWG matters.
  • Represent the Commonwealth at national and international fora and understand military commemorative services.
  • Undertake procurement and contract activities and manage related financial reporting.
  • Maintain asset registers and generate insurance and management reports.
  • Provide guidance on compliance with procurement policies and frameworks.
  • Coordinate financial management, analysis and reporting for OAWG War Graves Operations.
