Job summary

Constructive is seeking a capable leader to head the national mechanical engineering team in Canberra. The role oversees projects from planning to delivery, mentoring engineers across offices, and building strong client relationships.

With a focus on multidisciplinary collaboration, the role drives quality, practical engineering outcomes, and ongoing improvement, while supporting business growth in a flexible, hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering.
• Significant experience within consulting engineering or building services.
• Strong technical capability across mechanical design and project delivery.
• Experience leading, mentoring and developing engineering teams.
• Comfortable managing client relationships and contributing to business growth.
• Confident communicator who enjoys working collaboratively with clients and colleagues.
• Solid understanding of Australian standards and industry regulations.
• Chartered status or working towards it will be highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction to the national mechanical engineering team.
• Oversee the delivery of projects from planning through to completion.
• Support and mentor engineers across multiple offices.
• Build strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders.
• Work closely with multidisciplinary teams on complex projects.
• Drive consistency, quality and practical engineering outcomes across the business.
• Contribute to team growth, project wins and ongoing improvement initiatives.
