Trident Services Australia is seeking a commercial and legal leader to head our Commercial and Contracts function. The role combines legal drafting with strategic commercial responsibility to support sustainable growth.

Based at our Cannon Hill office in Brisbane with hybrid working arrangements, you will oversee contracting, tenders, procurement and risk across a national client base. You will translate complex agreements into practical operational requirements and provide governance, training

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Laws and admission (or eligible) to practise Australian law.
• 8–10 years’ post-admission or equivalent senior contract and commercial law experience.
• Strong expertise in Australian contract and commercial law, including drafting, reviewing and negotiating complex contracts.
• Experience advising executives and operations leaders on contractual risk, governance, claims and disputes.
• Experience in tendering, procurement, subcontracting and contract administration.
• Ability to explain complex issues clearly, influence stakeholders and provide practical recommendations.
• Experience managing competing priorities in a fast-paced, multi-site business.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Commercial and Contracts function: set priorities and guide the team.
• Oversee end-to-end tendering: bid strategy, tender responses, cost estimation, evaluation and negotiation.
• Draft, review and negotiate major client, supplier and subcontractor agreements.
• Develop and maintain contract governance: frameworks, authorities, approvals, templates and controls.
• Support contract delivery: mobilisation, administration, variations, renewals and disputes.
• Lead national procurement: strategy, sourcing, supplier evaluation and negotiations.
• Oversee public liability claims: investigations, insurers and legal advisers to resolution.
• Provide practical legal and commercial guidance to executives and operations teams.

Education

Bachelor of Laws and admission, or eligibility for admission, as an Australian legal practitioner
