Job summary

SA Health's Southern Adelaide Local Health Network is seeking a part-time Music Therapist to deliver comprehensive music therapy services to patients, families and carers within a hospital setting.

You will work under the Arts in Health program and contribute to person-centred programs that enhance patient care across the health service.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate qualifications in Music Therapy (and/or related fields) are required.
• Experience in the development and implementation of Music Therapy services in healthcare settings.
• Experience supervising staff, students and volunteers.
• Commitment to Arts in Health philosophy and promoting wellbeing through music.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high quality, safe, person-centred music therapy across admission, treatment, rehabilitation and recovery.
• Provide care planning and coordination to support continuity of care across hospital episodes.
• Promote a positive and learning team environment.
• Educate and inform staff and stakeholders about music therapy.
• Acknowledge cultural requirements and diverse client needs.

Music Therapist - Southern Adelaide Local Health Network

We are seeking a Music Therapist to join a vibrant Arts in Health team. This role offers the opportunity to deliver impactful, person-centred programs and contribute to one of Australia's longest-established hospital-based Arts in Health services, enhancing the healthcare experience of patients across a major tertiary health service.

About the role:

Reporting to the Manager Arts in Health,in this role, you'll deliver comprehensive music therapy services to patients, to their families & and carers — bringing a responsive, person-centred approach that flexes to meet individual needs across a diverse clinical environment.

Duties for the role will include:

• Commitment to delivering high quality and safe care consistent with the SALHN Integrated Governance Framework, the Consumer Engagement Framework and Plan.
• Provides safe, comprehensive, person-centred care through assessment, collaborative care planning and delivery, that supports continuity of care across admission, treatment, rehabilitation, recovery and transition from hospital.
• Promoting a positive and learning team environment.
• Providing education and information to relevant staff and stakeholders.
• Acknowledging cultural requirements and personal differences of clients.

About you:

• Additional study or qualifications relevant to the delivery of Music Therapy services in a range of acute and rehabilitation care settings.
• Postgraduate qualifications in Music Therapy (and/or other fields relevant to the position).
• Commitment to the philosophy of Arts in Health and the promotion of wellbeing through Music Therapy and cultural activities within the healthcare environment.
• Experience in the development and implementation of Music Therapy services in healthcare, including acute, palliative, mental health, rehabilitation and aged care.
• Experience in the general supervision of staff, students and volunteers.
