Job summary

Visy is seeking a hands-on Shift Operator to support day-to-day operations in forming, inspecting and packaging. This role offers broad manufacturing skills and opportunities to specialise over time, with a 9-day fortnight and a 35-hour week, on a 7:00am–3:30pm schedule.

Reporting to the Shift Manager, you will perform tool changes, assist with set-up, run quality inspections, operate production systems, and help maintain a safe, collaborative environment while contributing to sustainability

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude is essential; candidates with a trade background or mechanical/engineering studies are encouraged.
• Hands-on experience with tools and machinery from work, study or projects.
• Manufacturing experience is valued but not required; full training will be provided.
• Ability to work in a hot, dusty and loud environment.
• Strong communication, ability to work under pressure and a good eye for detail.

Responsibilities

• Perform tool and mould changes on forming equipment during format changes (bottles, jars, glass).
• Assist with job changes and set-up tasks.
• Work across Forming, Inspecting and Packaging departments as required.
• Conduct quality inspection checks on formed bottles and procedures.
• Operate computer production systems and interfaces.
• Troubleshoot and assist with general mechanical maintenance.
• Contribute to a safe working environment for the team.
