Qualifications

• Experience in an aged care setting as a carer is required or desirable.
• Certificate III in Individual Support or Aged Care is desirable.
• Empathy and ability to relate to elderly residents is essential.
• Ability to interpret care plans and provide tailored care to residents.
• Strong communication, organisational and time management skills.
• Understanding of cognitive strategies and meeting mental and emotional health needs of residents.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with personal care needs such as bathing, dental hygiene, dressing and grooming.
• Support residents in maintaining independence by assisting with activities and mobility aids.
• Complete accurate documentation and report to Nursing, Allied Health, and Management as required.
• Maintain respectful workplace communication, openness to change, and kindness.
• Assist with medication administration in line with facility policies.

Juniper is seeking an experienced Multiskilled Carer to join our team at Juniper The Residency and Bethavon facility in Northam.

About The Role

We are currently seeking Multi-Skilled Carers to join our care team at a well-established facility offering beds all with ensuites. Our homely atmosphere provides comfort to residents, including those living with dementia who require specialised support. We are committed to delivering high-quality care and fostering a supportive environment for both residents and staff.

As a Multiskilled Carer, you will work closely with residents to support their daily living, social, and emotional needs. In this role, you will share responsibility for the well-being of residents, providing person-centred care and enhancing their quality of life by ensuring they feel welcome and respected at all times.

With just 33 private rooms with their own ensuites and direct access to a courtyard or garden, the small, much-loved home offers plenty of outdoor areas, lounges, dining room and large activity space for those that choose to join in on the daily social calendar of events and activities. Residents can also choose to join bus outings to enjoy a picnic, Northam's cafes, or a reminiscence drive throughout the district.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist residents with personal care needs like bathing, dental hygiene, dressing, grooming, and other personal care
• Support residents in maintaining or restoring their independence by assisting with activities of interest and mobility aids as needed
• Complete accurate and timely documentation, reporting relevant information to Nursing, Allied Health, and Management as required

Key Requirements

• Certificate III in Individual Support or Aged Care (desirable)
• Experience working within an aged care setting as a carer
• Ability to relate to elderly customers with empathy and collaborate effectively with health professionals, service providers, and case managers
• Ability to interpret individual care plans and provide tailored care to meet individual goals
• Strong communication, organisational, and time management skills
• Understanding of cognitive strategies, social interaction, and meeting the mental and emotional health needs of residents
