Job summary

Colac Otway Shire Council is seeking a skilled Multipurpose Officer/Plant Operator to join the Services and Operations team in Colac on a permanent full-time basis. The role covers tasks on Council roads, bridges and reserves, plus council land, with focus on safety, quality and budget adherence.

The successful candidate will be based at the Colac Depot and must have road construction/maintenance experience, strong written communication, and relevant traffic control and plant tickets to operate

Qualifications

• Experience in road construction/maintenance works.
• Good written communication skills.
• Traffic control and roadwork signage certificates.
• OH&S Construction Induction Card/White Card.
• Tickets for machinery such as grader, roller, loader, excavator and skid steer.

Responsibilities

• Carry out allocated tasks on Council's roads, bridges and road reserves, and on Council-owned land.
• Maintain safety, quality and budget compliance in line with corporate values.
• Based at the Colac Depot and contribute to operational goals.

Job description

We are seeking a skilled Multipurpose Officer/Plant Operator to join our Services and Operations team in Colac in a PermanentFull-Time capacity.

As a member of the Services and Operations team you will carry out allocated tasks on Council's roads, bridges and road reserves, as well as Council-owned and managed land, with an emphasis on safety, quality and budget requirements to meet corporate values and standards.

This position is based at the Colac Depot.

The successful applicant will be required to:

• Demonstrate experience in road construction/maintenance works
• Have good written communication skills
• Have traffic control, roadwork signage competence certificates
• Have an OH&S Construction Induction Card/White Card
• Truck and/or required machinery tickets such as grader, roller, loader, excavator and skid steer

Salary information: $68,365.45 to $72,304.01 per annum including industry allowance plus superannuation
