Job summary

Apex Radiology is seeking an experienced MRI Radiographer to step into the MRI Modality Lead role in Western Australia. This position blends hands-on clinical work with leadership, mentoring, and operational responsibilities to ensure a safe, efficient and high-standard MRI service.

You will lead the MRI team, develop protocols, oversee safety practices, and collaborate closely with Radiologists and site leaders to drive growth and excellence in MRI services across ASP regions.

Qualifications

• Degree qualification in Medical Imaging or equivalent.
• Postgraduate MRI qualifications are highly regarded.
• Current professional registration (AHPRA).
• WA Radiation Use Licence or eligibility to obtain.
• Experience leading MRI teams and mentoring staff.
• Strong knowledge of MRI safety and scanning protocols.
• Ability to collaborate with Radiologists and site leadership.
• Experience with RIS/PACS systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership and direction to the MRI team.
• Maintain a high-quality, patient-focused MRI service.
• Ensure examinations are performed safely and per MRI protocols.
• Promote MRI safety, quality control, and scanning techniques.
• Oversee MRI workflow, rostering, and team coverage.
• Mentor MRI Radiographers and support CPD activities.
• Maintain MRI protocols, safety practices and equipment care.
• Collaborate with Radiologists and other site leaders.
• Contribute to quality audits and continuous improvement.
