Job summary

South Coast Radiology is seeking an experienced MRI Modality Lead to join the Gold Coast team in a key clinical leadership role within a large, high-volume practice.

You will provide clinical leadership to the MRI team, maintain high-quality service delivery, and drive safety protocols and advanced imaging, including Cardiac MRI. The role includes mentoring radiographers, rostering oversight, and close collaboration with radiologists and referrers.

Qualifications

• Degree in Medical Imaging or equivalent with registration to practice.
• Eligibility for QLD Radiation Use Licence or equivalent.
• Demonstrated clinical MRI experience and safety protocol knowledge.
• Experience leading teams in a high-volume imaging service.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership and support to the MRI team.
• Maintain a high-quality, efficient and patient-focused MRI service.
• Lead best practice across MRI safety, protocols and scanning techniques.
• Support advanced MRI imaging including Cardiac MRI.
• Mentor MRI Radiographers and support training programs.

Are you an experienced MRI Radiographer ready to take the next step in your career and make the move to the Gold Coast?

South Coast Radiology is seeking an experienced MRI Modality Lead to join our Gold Coast team in a key clinical leadership position.

Working across and being based on the Gold Coast with a remit including two regional areas in Toowoomba and Mackay. You will lead and support South Coast Radiology in MRI across a broad range of routine and advanced imaging, including Cardiac MRI. With Siemens and GE MRI technology across a fleet of 11 magnets. This is an opportunity to combine your technical expertise with personal and career growth in leadership, mentoring and service development. There will remain some hands‑on scanning time which will include supporting clinical training.

This is a highly visible leadership position within South Coast Radiology, working closely with Radiologists, referrers, management and operational teams, helping strengthen relationships and support the continued growth of our MRI service.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As MRI Modality Lead, you will:

• Provide clinical leadership and support to the MRI team
• Maintain a high‑quality, efficient and patient‑focused MRI service
• Lead best practice across MRI safety, protocols and scanning techniques
• Support advanced MRI imaging, including Cardiac MRI
• Support the MRI training program and MRI training Radiographer.
• Mentor and develop MRI Radiographers
• Support workflow, rostering and capacity across a busy, high‑volume service
• Work closely with Radiologists and operational leaders
• Build strong relationships with referrers and key stakeholders
• Contribute to service improvement, relationship development and growth of MRI services
• Involvement in capital acquisition assessment and decisions
• Attend industry events to remain up to date in MRI progression

ABOUT YOU

You will bring:

• Degree qualification in Medical Imaging or equivalent
• Current AHPRA registration
• Current QLD Radiation Use Licence, or eligibility to obtain
• Strong clinical MRI experience and knowledge of MRI safety and protocols
• Previous leadership, supervisory or senior MRI experience
• Experience with Siemens MRI highly regarded
• Cardiac MRI experience highly regarded
• Strong communication and stakeholder relationship skills
• A genuine interest in mentoring and developing others
• Team first mentality
