Auto & General Australia is seeking a Motor Claims Settlements Manager to lead and develop high-performing teams, driving settlements strategy and outcomes that align with business goals. You will coach staff, remove barriers, and foster a culture of peak performance across the Settlements Department.

You will drive settlements with a focus on regulatory compliance, risk management, and cost efficiency while partnering with internal teams to deliver tangible outcomes for the organisation.

We're looking for a Motor Claims Settlements Manager who's passionate about developing people and driving results. In this role, you'll lead teams to deliver claim outcomes that matter, both to our business strategy and to the people you lead. As our new Settlements Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving the Settlements Department in achieving key outcomes on all settlement claims related matters, while contributing to the strategic direction of the business.

Key Accountabilities:

• Foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment & developing the technical capability of your teams
• Develop and implement effective strategies for the negotiation and settlement of third-party motor insurance claims, ensuring optimal outcomes
• Ensure all settlements comply with legal, regulatory, and company policy requirements
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and process efficiencies in the settlement function
• Analyse settlement data to identify trends, potential risks, and areas for improvement
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal departments
• Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with claims settlements, including fraud

What experience you'll bring:

• Strong people leadership experience in performance management, coaching, mentoring, and staff development, with a demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and build high-performing teams through a proactive and energetic approach that drives the business forward
• Experience in ensuring adherence to GICOP and regulatory obligations
• Ability to manage a demanding workload and adapt to changing priorities and market conditions, along with sound judgment and ability to make timely and effective decisionsExcellent communication skills and ability to maintain strong relationships with all stakeholders
• Strong analytical skills, including data analysis and reporting including the ability to assess complex situations, identify key issues, and develop effective solutions
