Job summary

Carrier is seeking a Modernisation Estimator onsite in Eight Mile Plains, Queensland to develop accurate cost estimates and competitive proposals for retrofit and upgrade projects. You will work with Business Development Managers, service teams, suppliers and subcontractors to price scope, review technical documents and identify risks and opportunities.

Candidates should have strong HVAC knowledge, commercial awareness and stakeholder management skills to convert opportunities into profitable

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of HVAC equipment, mechanical systems and retrofit methodologies.
• Proven ability to develop detailed material, labour and subcontractor costings.
• Experience preparing tender submissions and cost estimates.
• Excellent vendor pricing evaluation and risk identification.

Working closely with Business Development Managers (BDMs), service teams, suppliers and subcontractors, the role supports the growth of the Modernisation business by providing timely pricing, technical assessments and bid support across a range of projects.The position will focus on retro-fit and upgrade opportunities including HVAC plant replacement, chiller upgrades, mechanical services refurbishments, controls and tenancy fit-outs, energy efficiency projects and critical infrastructure upgrades.The successful candidate will combine strong technical knowledge, commercial acumen and stakeholder management skills to convert opportunities into profitable project wins.**Key Responsibilities*** Prepare accurate cost estimates, quotations and tender submissions for modernisation and retrofit projects.* Review technical documentation, site assessments, specifications and customer requirements.* Develop detailed material, labour, subcontractor and equipment costings.* Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor pricing.* Identify project risks and opportunities during the estimating phase.* Develop value engineering solutions that improve project competitiveness and customer outcomes.* Maintain estimating templates, cost databases and benchmarking information.
