Job summary

Perth & Kinross Council is seeking a dedicated Peripatetic Play Assistant to support after-school and holiday childcare across Perth and Kinross. Based at Perth Grammar School, you will help deliver high-quality play activities and contribute to children’s development in a safe, inclusive environment.

You will be supported to pursue a childcare qualification, with flexible hours (18 hours/week term-time, 36 hours/week during holidays) and a pathway to professional growth within our youth

Qualifications

No entry qualifications are required, but support to gain a recognised qualification will be provided.
Commitment to working with children in early learning or childcare environments is essential.
Patient, compassionate, and respectful with children and families.
Willingness to register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) within required timescales.

Responsibilities

Assist in providing high-quality care and a range of stimulating activities.
Support children’s learning and development in a safe, inclusive environment.
Work with the Supervisor and Kids Club Team and wider School Team.
Engage in after-school and holiday activities across the Perth and Kinross area.
