Job summary

Mackay Regional Council's Mobile Assets team invites applications for two permanent Serviceperson Labourer roles based at Paget Depot. This hands-on position supports mechanics with vehicle, heavy plant and fleet maintenance, travelling to depots and worksites across the region to ensure safety and readiness.

You will join a safety‑minded depot environment with a 9‑day fortnights roster, a base salary of $70,813.93 per annum, and opportunities to build skills through diverse field and workshop

Qualifications

• Mechanically minded with workshop/fleet experience.
• Strong commitment to safety and following procedures.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Capable of performing physical and field-based duties.
• Willingness to participate in rotating after-hours standby roster.

Responsibilities

• Assist mechanics and tradespeople with vehicle, heavy plant and equipment maintenance.
• Complete basic servicing, preventative maintenance and pre-start inspections.
• Attend field breakdowns and support fault identification.
• Refuel, clean and prepare vehicles and plant; assist with tyres, batteries and consumables.
• Transport vehicles, plant, parts, tools and equipment; support stores and inventory.
• Maintain a clean, safe workshop following WHS procedures.
• Participate in rotating after-hours standby roster and emergencies.
