Job summary

Macquarie University Health is seeking a highly motivated respiratory physician to lead respiratory care for Motor Neurone Disease within Australia’s largest MND research clinic and research centre. This part-time maternity leave cover involves a Wednesday-only schedule commencing September 2026, based at Macquarie University, Wallumattagal Campus, North Ryde.

You will join a multidisciplinary team, contribute to teaching and research, and advance patient-centred care in an integrated academic

Qualifications

Subspecialty fellowship training in respiratory medicine.
Eligibility for registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a specialist respiratory physician.
Interest or experience in teaching and education.
Interest in clinical research and translating research into practice.
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary clinical team.

Responsibilities

Take a lead role in managing the respiratory complications of patients with Motor Neurone Disease across outpatient and inpatient settings.
Collaborate within Australia’s largest MND research clinic and research centre.
Contribute to teaching and education initiatives within the MND service and Respiratory Medicine.
Engage in research opportunities translating into improved patient care.
Deliver holistic, patient-centred care informed by world-renowned research.
