Job summary

EML invites applications for an MLOps Engineer to join our Sydney team on a full-time, 12-month fixed-term contract. You will bridge ML development and production, designing scalable infrastructure and pipelines to deliver AI solutions.

You will deploy and optimise LLM workloads, build containerised services, and collaborate with Technology, AI and business stakeholders to drive reliable, production-ready AI across the business.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as a MLOps engineer or Software Engineer.
• Strong Python development skills and production-ready RESTful APIs.
• Experience with CI/CD using GitHub Actions and containerised deployments.
• Experience deploying LLMs and AI workloads in production.
• Familiar with Linux, Bash scripting and automation workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable Python apps and AI solutions.
• Build and optimise CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions.
• Deploy LLM inference workloads using vLLM and Ray.
• Develop containerised apps with Docker and Kubernetes.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Design, develop and maintain scalable Python applications, RESTful APIs and AI solutions using modern engineering practices.
• Build and optimise CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, automating testing, deployment and delivery processes.
• Deploy and optimise Large Language Model (LLM) inference workloads in production using technologies such as vLLM and Ray.
• Develop and maintain containerised applications using Docker and Kubernetes, ensuring reliability, performance and scalability.
• Apply prompt engineering, LLM evaluation and inference optimisation techniques to improve the effectiveness of AI solutions.
• Collaborate with Technology, AI and business stakeholders to deliver secure, innovative and production-ready solutions.

What We’re Looking For

• Australian working rights without restriction
• 2+ years of experience as a MLOps engineer or Software Engineer
• Strong Python development skills, with hands-on experience building production-ready RESTful APIs using FastAPI.
• Demonstrated experience with CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, containerisation, and Kubernetes-based application deployment and operations.
• Practical experience working with Linux environments, developing Bash scripts, and automating deployment and operational workflows.
• Experience deploying and serving LLMs using technologies such as vLLM and Ray, with an understanding of inference optimisation.
• Knowledge of prompt engineering, LLM evaluation techniques and best practices for delivering reliable AI applications.
• A collaborative, solutions-focused mindset, with strong troubleshooting skills, attention to detail and a passion for emerging AI technologies.
