Job summary

Umbrella Club is seeking an experienced MLOps / AI Platform Engineer to design, build and operate scalable ML and GenAI platforms across cloud and hybrid environments in Sydney. You will deliver production-ready ML deployments and CI/CD pipelines supporting modern AI workloads.

You will work with Vertex AI, MLflow, Kubeflow and LangChain to implement data, feature management, governance and observability, while collaborating with AI, data, operations and business teams to optimise performance.

Qualifications

• Proven experience building and operating scalable ML/GenAI platforms.
• Hands-on with Vertex AI and MLflow/Kubeflow in production.
• Strong Python/SQL skills and cloud IaC experience.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement ML model deployment and CI/CD/CT pipelines.
• Build scalable AI platforms using Docker, Kubernetes and GPU-enabled environments.
• Implement model monitoring, observability, alerting and performance optimisation.
• Establish data, feature management, lineage and model governance practices.
• Operationalise GenAI, LLM, RAG and Agentic AI solutions.
• Support frameworks such as Vertex AI, MLflow, Kubeflow, LangChain and LangGraph.
• Work with AI, data, operations and business teams to deliver production-ready AI solutions.

Key Requirements:

• Strong experience in MLOps / AI Platform Engineering.
• Hands-on experience with Vertex AI and/or MLflow/Kubeflow.
• Strong Python and SQL skills.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes and CI/CD.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as GCP, Azure or AWS.
• Strong knowledge of Terraform and cloud infrastructure automation.
• Experience supporting ML/GenAI production workloads.
• Desirable: BigQuery, Snowflake, Spark, Airflow, OpenAI APIs, LangChain, LangGraph and Agentic AI.
