We are experiencing a period of growth at Griffith Base Hospital and are expanding the Specialist Paediatric team, we have multiple opportunities for Staff Specialist Paediatricians, we are flexible to be able to offer full and part-time, permanent and fixed term contract options.
Our Paediatricians have a passion for providing world class paediatric services in a rural environment. As key figures you will promote patient quality and safety whilst providing leadership, training, supervision, and education.
The hospitalhas a 10 inpatient beds on theChildren'sWard, 4 day surgery beds in the paediatric ward and 4 Special Care Nursery beds.There are approximately600 births peryear.
Griffith Base Hospital is associated with fouruniversities – University of New South Wales,University of Wollongong, University of Notre Dame and Charles Sturt University. Medical students are based in Griffith for year-long rotations and short four week rotations. The University of New South Wales runs a twelve month research program for medical students in Griffith.
Specialist medical officers have the opportunity to teach and supervise medical students. All four of the universities can offer conjoint academic appointments.
The $250 million Griffith Base Hospital redevelopment will deliver Griffith and thesurrounding communities with state-of-the art health facilities and enhanced health services closer to home.
All major health services at the Griffith Base Hospital will be housed under one roof, in the purpose-built three storey Clinical Services Building designed to support contemporary models of care.
Other works as part of the redevelopment include the Non Clinical Services Building, demolition of old hospital buildings, landscaping and car parking.
The Redevelopment is scheduled for completion in 2025.
