Job summary

Westgold Resources Limited seeks a site-based technician at Beta Hunt, Kambalda, to install, test, inspect and maintain mechanical equipment on a FIFO/DIDO-residential roster. You will complete preventive maintenance, record equipment history and support safety processes.

The role requires a valid WA C class licence, mining or heavy industry experience and basic computer skills. Desirable qualifications include first aid, confined space, height work, dogging, rigging, poly welding and

Qualifications

• Current C Class Western Australian driver’s licence.
• Work experience in gold, heavy industry, mineral processing environment or equivalent.
• First aid / confined space / working at height (Desirable).
• Basic computer literacy skills.
• Dogging (Desirable).
• Poly welding (Desirable).
• Rigging (Desirable).
• Scaffolding (Desirable).

Responsibilities

• Assist with the installation, testing, maintenance and record keeping of mechanical equipment.
• Undertake routine daily workplace, machinery/equipment inspections and pre-starts at areas of responsibility.
• Complete daily PM tasks and record equipment history.
• Use the safety database (INX) to complete individual training and LMS procedures.
• Ensure risk assessments and workplace inspections are conducted to identify hazards and associated risks and implement effective control measures with the use of Step-backs and JSEA.
• Actively participate in OHSE discussions at Pre-start and Safety meetings.
• Reporting of incidents and near miss events.
• Basic dewatering generator maintenance and inspection including pipelines, flow meters and refueling.
• Shutdown preparation.
