Job summary

Perenti Contract Mining is seeking an experienced Operations Leader to provide strategic direction across a portfolio of mining projects, ensuring exceptional safety performance, commercial outcomes and operational excellence.

In this pivotal role you will oversee Project Managers, drive performance, optimise resources and build high-performing teams, while maintaining strong client relationships and delivering against contractual commitments.

• Demonstrated success leading multiple mining operations or large-scale projects.
• Strong operational and technical mining knowledge.
• Proven commercial, contractual and financial acumen.
• Experience managing client relationships and influencing diverse stakeholders.
• Strong risk management and compliance leadership capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Champion a safety-first culture and ensure compliance with all company, client and regulatory requirements.
• Lead portfolio performance to achieve production, productivity and financial targets while optimising P&L outcomes.
• Identify, manage and mitigate operational, commercial and safety risks to ensure sustainable project performance.
• Drive operational excellence through continuous improvement, innovation and effective resource utilisation.
• Provide leadership, coaching and development to Project Managers and operational leaders, building strong succession pipelines.
• Foster a high-performing, inclusive culture centred on accountability, collaboration and continuous growth.
• Build and maintain strong client, stakeholder and community relationships, ensuring trusted partnerships and long-term value creation.
• Support business growth through commercial leadership, contract management and the identification of new opportunities.
