Evolution Mining is seeking a Mining Engineer – Studies for our Northparkes Operations in Parkes, NSW. You will contribute to underground mining studies from concept through feasibility, focusing on ventilation planning, mine design and strategic planning that shape long‑term growth.
You’ll work a 5:2 / 4:3 residential roster, collaborating with technical specialists to evaluate scenarios and deliver practical, sustainable development.
Qualifications
- Degree in Mining Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years’ underground hard rock mining experience.
- Strong underground ventilation knowledge and modelling experience.
- Proficient with VentSim for ventilation planning and modelling.
- Proficient with Deswik.CAD for mine design.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to ventilation planning and assessment for growth studies.
- Develop mine designs and schedules for future opportunities.
- Produce technical analyses and study outputs for strategic planning.

With ventilation forming a critical component of upcoming expansion studies, you’ll work closely with technical specialists to assess ventilation strategies, develop mine designs and evaluate scenarios that support safe, practical and sustainable growth.
Reporting to the Senior Mining Engineer, you’ll:
- Contribute to ventilation planning and assessment activities that support underground growth and expansion studies.
- Develop mine designs and schedules that help evaluate future mining opportunities and operational scenarios.
- Prepare technical analyses and study outputs that inform strategic mine planning and development decisions.
- Collaborate with geology, geotechnical, ventilation and operational teams to deliver integrated study outcomes.
- Produce high-quality technical reports and recommendations that support investment and project evaluation activities.

- Degree in Mining Engineering.
- 5+ years’ experience in underground hard rock mining.
- Strong underground ventilation knowledge with practical experience in ventilation modelling
- Proficiency using VentSim for ventilation planning, modelling and evaluation.
- Proficiency using Deswik.CAD for underground mine design
- Demonstrated experience in mining studies, strategic planning, expansion projects or Life of Mine planning.
- Experience working within block/sublevel cave or large-scale underground mining environments.
- Excellent communication, presentation and technical report writing skills.
- A collaborative and safety focused approach to delivering complex technical outcomes.
