Job summary

Tronox is seeking a proactive Mining Coordinator for the Wonnerup Mine Site in Western Australia. The role ensures safe, efficient delivery of mining, earthmoving and rehabilitation activities and coordinates contractors and internal teams to meet the mine plan and environmental requirements.

The role requires strong safety focus, mining experience, and the ability to manage assets and ensure regulatory compliance; SAP exposure is preferred but not essential.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a mining environment with emphasis on safe work practices.
  • Proven ability to supervise earthmoving, haulage and rehabilitation activities.
  • Exposure to SAP systems is advantageous.

Responsibilities

About The Role

Tronox is seeking a proactive and organised Mining Coordinator to join our team at the Wonnerup Mine Site. This permanent, full-time position plays a key role in ensuring the safe, efficient and reliable delivery of mining, earthmoving and rehabilitation activities across the operation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide onsite supervision of earthmoving and haulage operations, including the movement of overburden, ore, topsoil stripping and vegetation clearing, ensuring activities are completed in accordance with the mine plan, environmental requirements and applicable government regulations.
  • Conduct daily quarry inspections and report hazards, defects and non-conformances, ensuring corrective actions are implemented in a timely manner.
  • Manage and maintain tailings storage facilities (TSFs), haul roads, access roads, waste dump facilities and associated infrastructure to ensure safe, reliable and efficient operation, minimising operational risks.
  • Supervise and coordinate bulk haulage contractors and specialist subcontractors undertaking civil, mining and rehabilitation works, ensuring compliance with site safety requirements, operational standards and project specifications.
  • Monitor contractor performance, productivity and costs to ensure work is completed safely, on schedule and within budget.
  • Direct and supervise earthmoving activities to achieve annual rehabilitation targets and support closure and landform development objectives.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of overburden, ore civil, rehabilitation and landform work plans that align with departmental objectives and organisational goals.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, statutory requirements, environmental requirements and mining regulations.
  • Liaise effectively with Mining, Production, Maintenance, SHEQ and Technical Services teams to coordinate work activities and achieve operational objectives.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities to enhance safety, productivity, environmental performance and cost efficiency.

Due to fatigue management requirements, applicants must reside no further than 45 minutes from Wonnerup Mine, as there are no camp facilities available at site.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • The highest regard for safe work practices
  • Experience in a similar role in the mining industry
  • Registered Quarry Manager ticket is preferred, but not essential
  • Exposure and experience using SAP is preferred, but not essential
