Job summary

WSP Adelaide seeks an experienced Project Controls Team Lead to guide the Mine Advisory Project Controls capability in South Australia. You will lead, mentor, and provide technical guidance to a regional team, collaborating with Project Managers, executives, and the GCC to drive performance and commercial outcomes.

You’ll establish best practices, oversee forecasting and budgeting, and help shape growth of Project Controls across the region, while building strong client relationships and guiding

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading or mentoring project controls, project services or project management professionals.
• Strong background in project controls, cost control, planning and governance.
• Experience managing project performance across multiple projects or programs.
• Excellent stakeholder management and ability to influence senior leaders.
• Commercial acumen and ability to translate data into business insights.
• Experience in mining, resources, engineering consulting or major projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the South Australian Project Controls team through coaching and capability building.
• Act as regional focal point for Project Controls across Mine Advisory projects in South Australia.
• Partner with Project Managers and Team Executives to improve delivery, financial performance and client outcomes.
• Establish and champion project controls best practices, governance and reporting standards.
• Oversee project forecasting, budgeting, cost control, earned value management and portfolio reporting.
• Support resource planning, utilisation and workload management.
• Review project portfolios to identify risks, issues and opportunities for improvement.
• Lead project performance reviews and provide actionable insights to senior leadership.
• Drive continuous improvement across systems, reporting processes and GCC integration.
• Build strong client relationships and contribute to business development.
• Champion collaboration, accountability, safety and continuous learning.
