Job summary

Beca is seeking a Senior Mining Infrastructure Lead to drive multidisciplinary studies and projects across Queensland from our Brisbane office. You will be central to end-to-end studies, market growth in mine infrastructure and the Mine Closure offering, delivering high-value outcomes for clients.

You bring a Bachelor of Engineering and a strong coal-sector background, with regulatory knowledge and established Queensland relationships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering in Civil, Mining, Geotechnical or Mineral Processing or equivalent.
• Strong track record in resources sector projects and studies.
• Experience building coal sector relationships in Queensland.
• Experience and connections with regulators and standards in the resources sector.
• Proven delivery of mine infrastructure and closure studies with leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end concept, prefeasibility and feasibility studies including scope, schedule, budget, risk, quality and governance.
• Drive market development for mine infrastructure in coal and precious metals.
• Lead the Mine Closure offering in Queensland and position Beca as a trusted advisor.
• Collaborate with core and specialist engineering disciplines and planning/environment teams.

The opportunity

The opportunity This is a newly created role to lead the planning, management, and delivery of multidisciplinary mining studies and projects across QLD, while growing Beca’s market presence by developing our Mine Infrastructure and Mine Closure offerings. This is a key role in our ongoing successful growth strategy and while no 2 days are the same the key focus areas will be:

End‑to‑end stewardship of concept, pre‑feasibility, and feasibility studies including scope, schedule, budget, risk, quality, and governance, to deliver timely, high‑value outcomes for clients.

Market development and client engagement for mine infrastructure in coal and precious metals, building a sustainable pipeline and converting priority opportunities.

Leadership of the Mine Closure offering in QLD, shaping closure strategies and studies to position Beca as a trusted advisor undefined

Work collaboratively with and make internal connections with existing key support teams such as the core and specialist engineering disciplines and the planning and environment sections.

About you

In this new role you will have a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil, Mining, Geotechnical, Mineral Processing) or equivalent tertiary qualification and a proven record of achievements in this sector.

You will bring a wealth of experience that we can enhance and build upon to achieve successes in this area.

Having a strong background in coal, you’ll bring established QLD relationships to accelerate delivery, client traction, and sustainable growth.

Experience and connections with resources clients at both head office and site operational levels could be your differentiator.

In addition, experience with regulators, relevant state, local and federal government standards, regulations and guidelines in relation to the resources sector is expected.

Experience in successful delivery of relevant resources studies and projects and team leadership is essential.

Flexibility, proactivity and an understanding of the importance of teamwork in a consultancy setting are essential attributes in this role.

In addition, you will possess excellent communication skills, well developed interpersonal skills, and the ability to display initiative.
