Job summary

Glencore is seeking an experienced Mine Assistant UO3 for George Fisher Mine, Mount Isa, Queensland. This residential role on a 7/7 day and night roster supports frontline development operators to safely and efficiently achieve the mine plan.

The successful candidate will have at least three years in underground mining, relevant loader tickets, and a strong commitment to safety and teamwork. Applicants must be prepared for pre-employment medicals and drug/alcohol screening.

Qualifications

• A minimum of three years' experience and sound knowledge of underground mining operations.
• Strong safety culture and risk awareness in mining environments.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with multidisciplinary teams.
• A flexible and adaptable approach with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Operating loaders
• Charging
• Off‑side frontline Jumbo Operators
• Identifying opportunities to improve work practices and conditions
• Identifying safety and cost‑saving initiatives
• Delivering personnel and equipment to job sites and returning surplus equipment to stores
• Supporting the P49 Operations team in achieving budgeted KPIs by performing all required roles within the team
• Contributing positively to the team environment while operating safely and supporting the delivery of production targets within budget
