Job summary

RPR Trades is seeking an experienced MIG Welder / Fabricator to join a busy manufacturing operation in the Lidcombe area. The role offers ongoing work with consistent hours and an early finish, with day shift 6:00am–2:30pm, Monday to Friday.

You will read drawings, set up MIG welding equipment and fabricate/reinforce steel components, including prefabricated cages. This is a hands-on role requiring attention to detail and a commitment to safety, with opportunities for long-term placement for the

Qualifications

• Experienced in MIG welding and fabrication.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings/specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Overhead crane experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret drawings and welding specifications.
• Set up and operate MIG welding equipment.
• MIG weld reinforcement steel bars and components.
• Fabricate and assemble prefabricated steel cages.
• Perform fitting, layout and assembly prior to welding.
• Inspect welds for quality, strength and accuracy.
• Use grinders/torches/saws to finish welded assemblies.
• Safely operate overhead cranes to move steel and materials.
• Assist with automated/semi-automated machinery.
• Identify and rectify defective materials or welds.
• Maintain welding equipment/tools.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment.
• Follow site safety procedures and PPE requirements.
• Collaborate with production/warehouse/dispatch teams.
