Job summary

NSW Health in Moruya invites applications for a Midwifery Unit Manager to lead the midwifery team and deliver compassionate, quality care for mums and babies in our warm rural community. You will coordinate services, provide staff leadership, manage resources and partner with a multidisciplinary team to achieve people-centered outcomes and continuous quality improvement.

This permanent full-time role is 38 hours per week, with a salary of around $150,817 per year plus benefits; eligibility

Qualifications

  • Current Registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Midwife.
  • Tertiary qualifications in midwifery or equivalent work experience.
  • Effective communication using IT, written and verbal, with conflict resolution skills.
  • Knowledge of professional practice with supervision, QA programs, and change management.
  • Ability to implement operational plans and foster a positive workplace culture.

What you'll be doing

The MUM coordinates and manages the midwifery services and resources, provides staff leadership and direction within a multidisciplinary health care team to achieve people focused quality care.


Selection Criteria


  • Current Registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Midwife

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in the field or equivalent work experience, or a combination of study and work experience.

  • Demonstrated effective communication through the use of information technology, written and verbal means with the ability to utilise a range of communication strategies to negotiate resolutions and manage conflict.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of professional practice with proven skills in assessing and supervising competence and performance of staff together with the skills in implementing continuous quality improvement programs, policies and procedures.

  • Proven ability to contribute to the implementation of the operational/business plans, to create a positive workplace culture and manage organisational change processes.

  • Demonstrated capacity to manage and coordinate clinical services with proven ability to allocate and monitor resources to meet service and financial performance targets.
