Job summary

A local school district is looking for a Middle School Wrestling Assistant Coach to join the sports program. The ideal candidate will have appropriate coaching certification and strong knowledge of wrestling, along with the ability to effectively engage and mentor students. This role requires effective communication skills and a willingness to work evenings and weekends. Compensation is based on experience, and applicants are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.

Qualifications

  • Assist with coaching middle school wrestling teams to develop student-athletes.

Qualifications
  • Appropriate coaching certification as regulated by the IESA --OR-- Illinois Professional Educator License
  • Strong knowledge of the sport and an ability to teach and develop the skills of our student‑athletes
  • Ability to build relationships and serve as a positive role model for students
  • Effective communication skills with students and adults
  • Willingness and ability to work nights, holidays, evenings and weekends
  • Willing to travel with the team to different locations for practices/games, as needed
Compensation
  • This is a Differential position. The differential pay scale can be found in the Collective Bargaining Agreement with the Champaign Federation of Teachers, which is available on our website. Coaches with 5+ years of experience are compensated at a higher rate than those with more limited experience. Employment as a coach is on an at‑will basis.
